Because different publishers held the copyright of each book, editions were not often printed simultaneously. Therefore, each book is treated as a separate entity. The sermons of Henry Smith are notoriously difficult to collate and there were many variant issues made up of bound-up copies of his sermons. England's 'silver-tongued' preacher was compared to the golden tongue of Chrysostom.
